Careers in General Practice in Bristol, North Somerset & South Gloucestershire
Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Prescribing Paramedics
Part time or full time considered
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Prescribing Paramedics at the largest practice in Weston super Mare. With twenty thousand patients we are housed in one of Weston’s most modern GP buildings.
The practice is situated approximately a mile from junction 21 on the M5, so the practice is easily-commutable from Bristol. It is about 30 minutes from the Clifton Suspension Bridge on the M5 or 30 minutes from Ashton Gate Stadium using the A370.
Our Team at the Heart
We have teams of high skilled clinical and non-clinical staff providing high quality care to our patients. Supporting our 17 GPs we have a Pharmacist Prescriber, Pharmacy Technician, Mental Health Nurse, prescribing Paramedic, Lead Nurse plus a team of ANPs, Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants. Supporting our clinical staff are a team of named personal Administrative Assistants for each GP and ANP/Paramedic, a Management Team and other administrative support. We firmly believe that our team is at the heart of what we do.
Training and Mentoring
We are a Training Practice and between us we currently have 2 GP trainers. We also work with the University of the West of England to train Practice Nurses, Primary Care Paramedics and Physicians Associates. We run a mentoring scheme for new GPs and allied professionals.
Pioneering New Ways of Working
‘AskMyGP’ has revolutionised the way we handle our patient demand. The service allows requests to be navigated to the most appropriate member of our team, or alternative service, giving clinicians increased control over their working day. We have well established document workflow in place which has been rolled out to other local Practices.
Portfolio Careers and Flexible Working
If you want to work differently we are able to support you develop parallel roles. For example, we already have a GP with a developed interest in frailty and another who is a GPWI in dermatology. We have a range of other staff members who are actively involved in our Primary Care Network, Pier Health with whom we work very closely.
If you have a special interest or want to develop a special interest we can help you with that too.
If you need to be able to work flexibly to fit around other responsibilities we’d be happy to talk about how we can make that work as well.
