Business Manager - Clevedon Medical Centre

Due to a retirement, we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Business Manager for our thriving and proactive practice ensuring continued and improved patient care coupled with practice sustainability.

Candidates will need to demonstrate excellent communication, strategic, business management and organisational skills and have leadership, finance and project experience

The Manager will be responsible for the successful development of the practice including strategic planning, compliance, finance, HR and delivery of administrative and patient facing services across the practice supported by an extensive administrative team.

You will need to demonstrate leadership skills and experience in HR, finance and project delivery.

Working with the partners you will be responsible for the effective development of the practice and excellent ongoing relationships with other practices in the PCN.

We aim to put patients at the heart of our practice and take pride in the delivery of the best possible care. We also care deeply about our clinical and administrative teams and we are looking for a manager who can help us to maintain this ethos in an ever challenging and changing environment.


Clevedon Medical Centre is located in a small coastal town 10 miles south of Bristol and caters for 16,500 patients. We have 6 partners and 8 salaried GPs as well as an extensive clinical team comprising Treatment Room  and  Practice Nurses, an Elderly Care Nurse, ANPs, Physicians Associates, Clinical Pharmacists, First Contact Physios and Pharmacy Technicians. We look after the rehabilitation wards at the Community Hospital and with an extensive elderly population have responsibility for the care of patients in 9 care homes.

We are a long established teaching practice and many of our GP trainees have joined us as salaried GPs and Partners.

As an RSI Sessional funded  research practice we undertake projects in both University and commercial areas.

We encourage personal development across the whole team. Amongst our partners we currently have the Clinical Director of the PCN, the SW GP Research Lead and the SW GP Genomics Lead.

We are part of the Gordano Valley PCN and we work closely with the other practices in that group.


Salary circa £50,000 per annum FTE

Degree level or recognised  management qualification



Extensive management experience.  t would be highly desirable if some of this experience has been in an NHS setting
