An exciting opportunity has developed an additional Clinical Pharmacists to join the Affinity Primary Care Network (PCN).
The GP contract provides excellent opportunities for Clinical Pharmacists to develop advanced roles within GP practices. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team you will be able to utilise your clinical skills to provide expert medicines advice to patients within the network as well as the GP practice team.
Affinity PCN covers approximately 40,000 patients, and is increasing, in an area spanning the Bristol suburbs of Henleaze to Sea Mills. The 4 close-knit practices have operated together for some years and also form research collaboration. The practices cover a fascinating population with a wide variation in age from new-borns to 100 + years and the whole socioeconomic spectrum including pockets of deprivation and affluence.
We are looking for forward thinking, motivated, independent clinical pharmacist to join our existing team of four supportive and dynamic PCN pharmacists. The successful candidate will jointly offer a service to all or a combination of the PCN practices they support. An independent prescribing qualification is desirable however training opportunities will be provided for the right candidate. You will be expected to visit practices to build and maintain a relationship with the prescribing lead and where available as part of the skills matrix, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy clerks.

Support, supervision, mentoring and encouragement will be readily available by the dedicated PCN Senior Clinical Pharmacist in collaboration with a vast range of experience from the wider pharmacist team. Under the direction of the Clinical Director the PCN provides dedicated clinical supervision and the support of a team of Practice Managers and extended colleagues, eager to support the introduction of new colleagues.
The role will bring a competitive salary dependant on experience. It also benefits from 5 weeks leave per annum and is eligible for the NHS Pension scheme. Further training opportunities are also available if required. Full or part time applicants (0.8 – 1 WTE) will be considered.
