Lead - Treatment Room Nurse - Bridge View Medical

We are looking for an experienced Lead Nurse who will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe and effective nursing care to the whole practice population.

Reports to: Chief Nurse and accountable to Lead GP and Practice Manager

Salary: Depending on skills and experience.

Hours: Part - time (Min 25 hrs per week)

As the team leader for the practice nursing team, the post holder is accountable for nursing service delivery. They will lead and manage all the nursing resources, working closely with multi-disciplinary clinical teams, administrative teams & practice manager to deliver the practice priorities. Clinically, the focus of the role is the delivery of evidence-based practice for patients with acute and chronic conditions and management and preventative nursing interventions to all patients. You will work collaboratively with the whole general practice team and other lead nurses to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery and procedures and providing leadership and direction for the nursing team.

As lead nurse you will monitor the nursing team who work under you and ensure they are fulfilling their job requirements and adhering to the practices policies and procedures. Your other responsibilities will include coordinating resources required for the treatment room to operate efficiently. This may mean delegating certain ordering tasks to other staff, but you will have overall responsibility for ensuring the system is robust and function effectively. You are responsible for your team’s skills development and arranging trainings required to deliver efficient service.

As lead you will be expected to carry out a variety of administrative tasks, such as dealing with enquiries from the wider team or completing return to work forms; you will also be expected to undertake regular staff appraisals.

In your position as lead nurse you will need to have a good knowledge of the practice procedures i.e. complaints procedure, and be prepared to be involved in the planning and implementing of procedures.

You should be:

· NMC registered & qualified nurse

· Experience in a primary care setting

· Awareness of clinical governance issues in primary care

· Knowledge of patient group directions and associated policy

· Team management experience
