Practice Nurse - Horfield Health Centre

RESPONSIBLE TO: Treatment Room Joint Lead Nurses

JOB SUMMARY:

Are you a friendly, flexible and enthusiastic individual, wanting to join a Treatment Room team consisting of other Practice Nurses and HCA’s with a similar outlook? Do you want to be a part of our evolution into the primary care nursing team for the future, responding to the ever-changing health needs of our patients?

Our inclusive, supportive team is looking to welcome an additional up to 2 Practice Nurses to work between 25 and 30 hours per week at Horfield Health Centre – described by patients as “refreshing” “kind”, “reassuring” and “knowledgeable” and rated Good by CQC.

If you want to

  • Provide the best care for patients across a range of chronic diseases and conditions
  • Benefit from a well-established multi-disciplinary team including pharmacists, physios, mental health workers, care co-ordinators and social prescribers
  • Join a practice where training and development is a major part of what we do (as evidenced by the New to Practice programme, NMP qualifications gained by various staff, and our continuing commitment to welcoming trainee doctors, nurses and other clinical colleagues)
  • Be part of a practice where genuine staff well-being is important; and
  • Enjoy periodic treats like ice cream days in the summer, and fruit bowls the whole year round

then we’d love to consider you for these positions

Our preference would be for someone with at least a grounding in practice nursing, to include chronic disease experience. However, we are happy to consider colleagues from other nursing backgrounds, who can show some transferable skills and can demonstrate why they now feel practice nursing is the route forward for them. (For colleagues new to practice nursing, we would support and encourage you joining the New to Practice programme run by the LMC, with up to 4 hours WTE dedicated CPD time per week, access to training, mentorship, supervision and peer support from dedicated Legacy nurses.)

Working hours are within a flexible shift pattern between 8am - 6:30pm Mon- Friday, with occasional Saturdays 8:15am - 5pm and some weekday evenings until 8:00pm on a rota basis. Salary is depending on experience.
