We're looking for motivated and aspirational registered nurses and allied healthcare professionals to join our growing team of primary care clinicians. This isn’t primary care as you think you know it; this is prison primary care...

In the prison setting, we have a responsibility to offer our patients the same primary care services you would expect to receive from your community GP practice, but our responsibility to these patients goes far beyond that. When our

patients need emergency care, we respond. When our patients are in withdrawal from drugs or alcohol, we help them detox. When our patients are in crisis, we work with mental health colleagues to keep them safe.

We do this because we care about making a difference to the lives of some of the most vulnerable, traumatised and marginalised people within our society. Most of our patients will be released back into the community, and it is our mission, our duty and our privilege to help them to be better, think better and live better.

The time a person spends in prison is the ideal (and often only) time for their physical and mental health needs to be addressed. It’s an opportunity for us to work with them to improve their overall well-being and to set them on the right track to manage their own health in future.

"I don’t know what I would have done without you guys, you helped me keep it together" - one patient's reflection on the healthcare service at HMP Eastwood Park.

Leaving prison healthy and well is a key factor in reducing the likelihood that a person will re-offend. It is with immense pride that we undertake our part in helping people to break the cycle of offending by restoring them to good health and equipping them with the support and tools they need to maintain this.

So, whether you’re a registered nurse, paramedic or other allied healthcare professional, we could have the ideal role for you, so why not apply or get in touch and see what opportunities await you?

Visit our website to find out more about who we are, what we do, the current job opportunities we have available, and what our existing employees think about working in the prison setting.

Get a 'Golden Hello' of up to £1000 and paid NMC membership when you join our team! T&Cs apply.

We know it’s not for everyone…

It’s easy for us to say how rewarding, exciting and unique it is working in a prison, but that’s because we know what it involves and we love what we do. We appreciate that prison is a great unknown and that most people have only ever seen inside a prison through their TV.

That’s why we welcome you to come and visit us before you decide whether or not to hit that ‘Apply Now’ button. You can visit for a brief tour, a half or full day shadowing our team, or even join our bank on a trial period to get a feel for what it’s really like to work in prison.
